Another great Pixar film
Pixar has done it again. Wall-E, Pixar's 9th feature film, is another great one. It has a terrific storyline that is both funny and heartfelt.

Wall-E, which stands for Waste Allocator Load Lifter - Earth Class, is a lonely robot that has been on Earth for hundreds of years, programmed to clean up the mess humans left behind. It got so bad that humans actually had to leave the planet. One day a spacecraft lands and a robot named EVE starts to explore Earth. Wall-E is immediately smitten with her. When the spacecraft comes back to get her, Wall-E follows along, and unwittingly becomes involved in an exciting adventure.

You may have heard that large portions of the film do not have human dialogue in them, but please don't let that discourage you from seeing the film. The lack of dialogue really works and some of the best scenes do not contain human dialogue. There are some messages in the movie involving such things as environmentalism, global warming, and what could happen to our planet if we continue down our current path. A small percentage of people didn't seem to like that, but the overwhelming majority of people will enjoy this film regardless.

This film is entertaining for both adults and children, which explains its widespread appeal. It's good enough to watch multiple times. One of the better films of 2008, Wall-E is definitely worth checking out.

Wall-E is rated G and runs for 98 minutes.

The Forbidden Kingdom (2-Disc Special Edition) [Blu-ray] Homage to Kung Fu films of yesterday
Growing up watching Shaw Brother films, cartoons and stories told of the monkey king, drunken kung fu, tiger claw, bride with white hair, and so forth. This film does a nice job of westernizing and paying homage to these type of films. The action was non-stop. Good chemistry among Jackie and Jet. Michael Angarano know to me as Elliot on Wil and Grace did a superb job. Pretty girl Sparrow (I never saw her in any films before) you know she's an upcoming actress. Did I mention Woo Ping choreographed too?

DVD wise -- colorful characters, colors are vivid. Nice special features.

HULK SMASHED THE BOXOFFICE
This movie was epic, out of all comic book movies this one is my favorite. The blu-ray version shall be perfection!

They Got It Right This Time!
Being a huge fan of the tv series, and not a huge fan of the first one, I have to admit I was skeptical. After seeing this in the theater, I was not disappointed! It feels a lot more like the tv series, which I love. The big green guy definitely delivers this time with the action scenes, which were probably the best of the superhero flicks this year (school yard scene was incredible!).

Edward Norton was great also, although I'm very interested in seeing what his version would have been. His dialog does seem stripped down for the first half hour, which definitely has that "Bourne" feel to it. I think if they would have met somewhere in the middle on this section of the movie it would have been perfect.

The blu-ray on this release is a must have with all the features that are going to be included, and the limited ed. "green-ray" box art. IMO, 2nd best movie of the summer behind The Dark Knight.

Three hundred costume changes over two and a half hours. And that was just me figuring out what to wear.

We are celebrating chickdom here, guys. We are coming out of our respective closets, whether they're walk-in, hole-in-the-wall, or fab-fantastical Carrie's, and we are holding the supreme estro-fest. I could not find a single heterosexual guy brave enough to see it with me. It's ok that you don't get it. Go watch Indiana Jones again. In other words..... shoo! Or perhaps, shoe!

That's the nice thing about the Internet, isn't it guys? You wouldn't be caught dead at the movie, but you can peek at this Barbie-pink review and no one will be the wiser. Tsk, tsk. Smooch. Buy it and watch it at home. I promise I won't tell.

This is an event first and a movie second, so my primary concern was, of course, what to wear. The stiletto cam at the premiere screamed designer heels. Sadly, my Manolo Blahniks were in the shop. Someone else's shop. But as a loyal fan, I buffed my spike heels and blinged my body to go sit in a dark theater with my sisters. Did I look great? Yes. Could anyone see me? No. Do I feel the need to explain why I did that? Puh-lease.

James Bond - England's 007
If you a James Bond fan then this is for you. I have never really enjoyed James Bond until I got older and joined the military. However now that I have gotten older I really have enjoyed the character. I know it is a lot of money at first but if you buy the complete set then you are paying an extremely low price than buying each of them individually. If you go to the Used section you can find this set even cheaper. I have never had a problem with buying this way and I purchased the set brand new from an individual dealer at about 30.00 dollars less than through Amazon directly. I usually look for those individuals with a credit rating of 95 to 100. If you have an issue then Amazon will help you out. I have never lost money this way. So, If you are a James Bond fan then don't wait. This takes you from the beginning of the James Bond Films to the Last one that hit the theaters not that long ago.

Long overdue - but what about the Saga/Epic/Trilogy???
Yes, to have all three movies restored for Blu-ray release is fantastic, but die-hard Godfather fans are longing for a chronological release with ALL the extra scenes found in the Saga (1977), Epic (1981) and Trilogy (1992). There are so many enjoyable and important scenes left out of the original movies. The scenes of Sonny taking control after the Don is shot is invaluable. After Connie's wedding, the Don & his sons visit the dying Genco in the hospital. The scene in Part II of Don Fanucci singing a Sicilian song and later trying to fix up Vito with one of his daughters. There are too many to mention here, but having the movies in chronological order with all the deleted scenes would the ultimate Godfather collection. Please Mr. Coppola, give us this special set!

In a small Alaskan town, thirtydays of night is a natural phenomenon. Very few outsiders visit, until a band of bloodthirsty, deathly pale vampires mark their arrival by savagely attacking sled dogs. But soon they find there are much more satisfying thirst-quenchers about: human beings. One by one, the townspeople succumb to a living nightmare, but a small group survives - at least for now. The vampires use the dark to their advantage, and surviving this cold hell is a game of cat and mouse and screams.

Had a lot of potential...but
It started out well. It had a lot of promise. Reminds you of "The Thing." As one of the reviewers said, the bird's eyeview shots were great and the redness of the blood contrasted well with the snow...until the vampires showed themselves fully. In my case, that could be forgiven. Although Danny Houston ("Marlowe") could have used more make up. They had a lot of bald vampires which reminds you of Nosferatu or Mr. Barlow from Salem's lot. The girls made to walk on the snow as baits was pretty clever. The vampires standing on the roofs was pretty cool. However, Vampires are supposed to be afraid of fire. I could not understand why Marlowe started to burn the town. I thought it was the way to get Melissa George's (who's the splitting image of Olivia d'Abo [Wonder Years]) character from under the house. If that was the case, then the vampires could have easily taken her from under the house as they previously did in an earlier scene. Also, if Josh Harnett's character knew the way to kill them is to cut of their heads, why didn't they get more axes from the hardware store for his companions to use? But what killed the story was when Josh Hartnett had to become a vampire to defeat the vampires. That was just too "Buffy the Vampire Hunter" (the TV show not the movie) and it just made the story a little corny.

Absolutley fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This movie was great! I watched it 2 times in a row it was that good! Lots of twists and turns and very scandalous! I give it 5 stars and is a must see!

Henry VIII, modern style
This film is a modern rendition of the relationship between Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn and her sister Mary Boleyn. Until this movie came out I was unaware of the rivalry for the king's love between two sisters. It was great to watch feisty Anne (Natalie Portman) persuade the king to divorce Catharine of Aragon, leave Catholic Church and create Church of England in order to marry her. The product of that union was no less but Elizabeth I, the Virgin Queeen, one of the greatest and longer ruling monarch in Britain's history. I am still puzzled that there was never any mention of King's illegitemate son with Mary Boleyn. What happened of this boy? While the film is full of plots, twists an intrigues that explain how royal coupling is both political and moral issue for the state, I found language to be too colloquial to suit House of Tudor. The costumes were beautiful and the actress playing Catherine of Aragon commanding in her grace and appearance. Wonderful entertainment value here, but not quite a masterpiece.

I enjoyed the movie and in hi definition the movie is even better. The animation is good... I enjoyed the movie MUCH better in hi def.... The sotry is cute and Patrick Dempsey is great.

Beautiful...
This is a must see movie. It was absolutely beautiful, as beautiful as the book. It touched my heart like no movie has in a very long time. I recommend it for everyone. You laugh, you cry and you feel for the characters. I also learned much about the Afghan culture, which I must admit really did not know very much about. It has changed my view of the Afghan people. It makes you value true love and friendship and how timeless the human connection is. Both the book and movie will stay in your memory and your heart for a very long time. Wonderful.

Not a blindingly bright light but a multifaceted ray
The film portion of Shine a Light (documentary style old interview clips et.) is woven nicely into the surprisingly theatrical set of live music. The guest spots are hit and miss, Buddy Guy steals the entire show, and walks away with Keith's guitar in the process. Martin Scorcese "character" director gets his personality into more than just the lens this time and is a character in the film at the beginning at least. The music hums along and it takes awhile to get going but by the middle of this set when Mick starts to really perform (Far Away Eyes) that this film turns into a truly theatrical and cinematic experience. At moments a true rock show that encompasses a gargantuan career on both sides of the camera, it might not be lightning in a bottle but its some kind of thunder in a jar at the very least. Recommended & worth owning

You Must Be This Tall To Ride Doomsday!
This really is an excellent rollecoaster ride. Take out your brain and set it aside for a couple hours. Sometimes its nice to be simply entertained and not have to think. This is one of those times. Great Sexy action flick with beautiful sound and picture quality. A nice reference disk to show your friends who are still watching Full Screen Star Wars on VHS Tapes. I give the movie four stars. Five stars if you include the impressive PQ and SQ. Shades of Escape from New York and The Road Worrior are impossible not to notice. Not the best movie you will ever see, but far from the worst and a lot of fun along the way.

Excellent set. I love it even though I had to get the fourth disc replaced by warner home entertainment because it was HD and not Blu Ray. I finally got to watch the Goblet of Fire and I couldn't be more pleased. I adore Blu Ray. If you are a true Harry Potter Fan like me, then buy this set. You won't be sorry. Unlike the BBC series "Planet Earth", which is a stunning series in itself, "Earth, the Biography" shys away from lifeforms on the planet and looks at the Earth herself; in all its glory and complexity.
While I strongly disagree with one reviewer claiming this is proof we are ALONE in the Universe (C'mon, we can barely see into our own galaxy, let alone the billions of other massive galaxies in the Universe!), there is no doubt that our planet is rare amoung celestial bodies. Requiring all the right components to support complex life; like human beings. To believe the Earth was created by some super being is naive at best. This series proves we weren't here before, and we won't be again some day in the future...but Earth will still go on. Ian says, "forget save the Earth, she will survive, how about save the human race!"
Beautiful to watch, deeply interesting and thought provoking, and slightly frightening with it's dire warnings of global warming, I highly recommend this series to all who love our planet.
